Stagehands take part in training!
Last month, ten Stagehands employees from Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg successfully completed a three-day training course at the APEX Rigging School.
All relevant topics relating to rigging were covered in the training course entitled ‘Specialist for rigging equipment (riggers)’. Particularly in this sensitive area, which involves the safe suspension and securing of loads such as lighting and sound equipment, in-depth knowledge is essential. Mistakes here can have serious consequences, which is why specialised training for employees is essential.
The training covered both theoretical and practical content, including legal principles, material science and the use of slings. Particularly important were basic physical concepts such as load distribution and center of gravity for the safe attachment of suspensions as well as dimensioning according to the specifications of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). The combination of theory, practice and a final test enabled participants to put what they had learned into practice immediately.
This training has numerous benefits for stagehands and their employees. On the one hand, safety is improved for future projects as employees are now better prepared for the requirements of rigging. Secondly, qualified employees can take on more responsible tasks and further increase the quality of services. This not only creates trust with customers, but also opens up new career opportunities for employees.
