30th Grand Prix in Suzuka Formula 1

Stagehands.net crew supporting customers in Japan

on the 7th October the japenese Grand Prix of the Formula 1 will take place in Suzuka. The grand prix is held in the city since 1987, this year also celebrating its 30ths Grand Prix overall. You may ask if we can not count correctly but for some reasons one year the grand prix was held in Fuji speedway before coming back to Suzuka. Traditinally Suzuka is one of the last Grand Prixs held every year, so many title-wins were decided here. 2018 the points between Hamilton and Vettel are a bit closer together and still 4 Grand Prix after Suzuka to master. Behind the scenes we are happy to support our customers  with local crew and whish everyone a good race.

Latest Tokyo Event

Stagehands.jp at the Midtown Hibiya.

While recently expanding our efforts in Japan, we were part of an event at the Midtown Hibiya. The luxury complex in the Center of Tokyo opened it doors just recently on March 29th. Included in the scyscraper is a shopping center as well as an conference complex.

We were happy to be some of the first people to work at this new location. Unfortunately the event itself is again a little secret.  Nevertheless we share with you some pictures of the complex and the view over the imperial garden.

See you in Tokyo!

Artificial Intelligence in the Event Industry

How is Artificial Intelligence(AI) changing our business?

We were today at the DJW (German-Japanese-Business Association) Symposium in Düsseldorf. Several participants were informing and discussing what AI can do, should do and how it will change our life.

We want to share with this post an outcome of this discussions and a short conclusion when we look on our own business.

Our main business is to organize crew and  services for our customers, we strive to be available for our customer as quickly as possible and as direct as possible.  Our main goal is to make lifes easier for our customers. On the service side, this is very time consuming to do in our office. Picking up requests from our customers, discussing things with our partners in serveral countries in the world.

Where does AI pop in ?

From what we have learned today, basically AI can be used at several points in the company.

It starts at the customer contact channel. Which channel does the customer use and how is this information treated? Customers contact us on several channels. Phone, Whatsapp, Mail, Facebook, Smatsupp, we are dealing with this messages personally, every single one.

And here AI can be a really good help. i.e. having a software that bundles all these message channels and filters first messages. Why filter? Some messages and who may have noticed this not before, are spam and fishing mails. On top of these mails, you get messages, that simply ask for the way to contact you, or how to reach you, what information is needed for an order and so on.

AI can be used to implement automatic answers to these simpler questions, When needed a “real person” can still come into play if needed.

AI can also be used to predict certain events. Maybe its interesting when your customer will order again, and we see it over the years, that events are recurring, that some customers dont order during school holidays, some customers may event simply forget about you, if you are not contacting them after a certain amount of time.

AI can learn these specialities of business and wont forget what it has learned, thats the major advantage over information, wise conclusions and knowledge that might be lost in daily business ore when people leave the company. But its more than a simply wisdowm storage, it can learn and become better.

We will have a closer look into AI, as it is an very interesting opportunity to make lifes easier, for our customers and our office workers and that should be also the main overall goal of implementing AI in your and our business: simplify life for users.

If you are interested in the topic the DJW is soon sharing details about the outcome of the AI symposium in Düsseldorf.

We also recommend companies  and institutions who send their speakers:

Bernd will accompany and advise our customers on their projects in Japan. Let’s Go Tokyo Motor Show!

The Stagehands.net crew are set to staff the 45th Tokyo Motor Show later this year, with team of local technicians and international coordinators.
Hosted in one of Japans largest and most impressive venues, Tokyo Big Sight, the Motor Show is one of the largest of its kind and has been a hugely popular event since its first appearance in 1954. This year’s theme of “Beyond the Motor” is intended to give the show a broader spectrum of innovations and technologies. With this will come a new set of design challenges for event’s organisers (JAMA-Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association) and the production team building the numerous display platforms and stages.

The exhibition has a tradition of debuting concept cars as oppose to passenger vehicles, and despite moving to involve more commercial vehicles in recent years, the one of a kind cars the show does still include deserve one of a kind unveilings! With a whole host of rotating platforms, curtain drops and lightshows to showcase the motors, the event staff will have their work cut out for them.

Stagehands.net Tokyo office manager, Bernd Erbs, will lead the team throughout the event and is currently taking crew orders for the show. Bernd is fluent Japanese, German & English, this will prove useful in to help planning and crew coordination on site, as well as working closely with international clients to fulfil any special requirements.
