Projects abroad, how easy can it be?

Questions and answers for projects outside of your own country.

Most event companies organize events in their own area. Thats fine, you have your equipment in your warehouse, short ways to the event location and the crew is also living nearby and you know them.

As companies start that is pretty much the way to do it to grow and have a healthy base of customers. But with the years customers also grow and spread their wings. Project requests will present themselves that are not just local any more. First it might be the next city or county, then the neighbor country, then the next continent.

Over the years we have met event companies that were “cautious” about going abroad and out of their region. But then the chance is there that you will have to tell your customer that you can not help him in Paris or elsewhere, cause you are only working locally. He/She will probably find a company there that is working globally and then, your local contract might also be gone.

Is there a way to avoid this chance of losing the local contract as well? Yes there is, without even giving away your expertise and still guiding the project. Only one or 2 of your good crew might be needed to be sent directly to the project, the rest of the crew can be organized by us. Material and equipment can be organized by our local contacts and dry hire companies whom we have known and established good working relations with for years.

If you are unsure about how a project can be done with our assistance abroad, please contact us directly. We will sit together with you and discuss the matter in detail.

Maybe start with a small project first and then move on to the larger. We are available for your assistance and to help you any day.

Stagehands.net by Global Jumping Berlin

Closing off July with some fun and games under the sun

Who doesn’t love summer, horses and a good competition? As the Stagehands.net team is finishing off a hectic work period in July before things quiet slightly down in August, Global Jumping Berlin was taking place at Berlin Messe this weekend.

Happening at the Messe’s beautiful green summer garden location,  the horse jump-tournament with over 15 locations in 12 countries came to a closing in Berlin as its only German location. The tournament saw Olympic, world and European champions, world cup winners and many of the worlds best riders and horses gathering to compete for fame and prestige, competing on the highest level with a total prize amount of 1 000.000 euros.

Our crew was on site in the sommer gardens assisting with preparing the grounds for take down & take off, keeping a high tempo and high spirits under the sun.

It was hectic at times, yet the perfect project closing of an unbelievably sunny month and we look forward to next years show!

Project management in Turkey

Stagehands.net helping with technical equipment.

In March Stagehands.net startet project management assistance in Japan, together with former PRG employee Bernd Erbs. We started only with organizing crew in the most countries, but more and more customers asked us for helping them out with equipment or organizing other things.

Who does not forget to to order a fork lift or gets a cancelation of the order the day before you start your event? Sometimes you just miss to pack things into the truck before traveling abroad with your equipment. One CEE cable sometimes can mean that the event wont take place. And so things also went in Istanbul, sometimes cables were missing, lamps, sound equipment or a quick transport in the city needed to be organized. We did not officially offer this to our customers but were always happy to make the event a success.

In Turkey, we now can offer this service too, so if you need help, please feel free to contact us. We can organize you the crew and help you with the equipment.

What our customers do.

store support with Stagehands.net

You may ask what type of customers we at Stagehands.net have. We have various types of customers with a broad bandwith of events and jobs. Today we want to introduce one type of these jobs.

Worldwide shop support for clothing brands.

Of course you know major labels that have stores in every corner of the world, sports brands, High class clothing companies and so on. When entering these stores, you normally see big LED Walls or other types of video installation. You also will hear music and see light installations that might be more as the standard shop light. As everywhere in normal life, thinks get broken, so do LED walls and other equipment. Partially things are not working as they should or new items need to be shown in the stores. Many repairs can be done remotely these days, some of our customers can update content from afar, but not everything can be done in this way.  Technicians have to travel to these stores. Lets imagine a broken LED segment in Antalya Turkey and a not working moving light in downtown Paris.

Things need to be solved the same day or latest the day after, shops lose money if things do not look neat. To solve these kind of problems local technicians  are needed. These  technicians get a call and drive to the shops and solve the problem. But there comes a major problem: Things dont break every day, updates dont need to be done every week, you can not hire one technician for a month standby, as it is to expensive.  There Stagehands.net has found the right solution, we have local technicians in the most cities. We also have several customers that need this kind of support. We bundle the work. So for our technicians, every day, there is “something broken” to repair or to update, may it be Paris, Istanbul, Berlin or Tokyo.

If you are interested in our world wide support, we are glad to help.

Just drop us a quick line in the contact section of this website, we will write you back asap.
