Stagehands.net at the filmset

Berlin is not only the place for numerous events it is also an important spot for making movies and comercials. We recently sent our crew to one of these sets. The task was to support the film crew at their work of a new commercial for the major japanese broadcaster. Our local english speaking crew is used to work with international teams, as are our teams and partners around the world.

Around the world with Formula 1

Stagehands support for Events at Fomula 1

One could have the impression that there is but one sport in the world. After the grand opening of the FIFA Worldchampionship in Russia yesterday, there is but soccer/football in everybodies mind. But there are of course other sports events taking place. A bit in the shadow of the big event in russia. But there we are supporting even “smaller” events like the Formula 1 on its way around the world. For a few years now, we support our partners with local Stagehands for their projects at the local stops of the Formula 1.  Partners that put a lot of trust in our abilities to organize hard working people in time for their set ups, loadings, rigging and so on. From Mexico City to Suzuka Japan, we can organize crew and are happy to do so.

The next Formula 1 race will be the Grand Prix France at the Circuit Paul Ricard on the 24th June 16:10.

enjoy!

In France they call them Roads…

Do you know what event people in France mean when asking for Roads?

Several years ago when dealing the first time with one of our french customers. we were asked to provide roads for a show in Berlin. To be honest, I could imagine what they ment: Roadies of course. But does this term not stand only for all crew that travels with a band or the tour? Yes, in english it means exactly that. So,  I had to go back to our customer asking what he ment with “Roads”. After a few hours and several E-Mails it was clear, they simply ment Site or General Crew. In Germany we normally use the term “Stagehands” for this group of people.

Quite often our customers ask us for organizing “Stagehands” for their Roadshows with stops in several countries. Tour stops from Lisbon to Tokyo. There comes the next task. A French Customer asking for Roads in Lisbon or Tokyo, what is the term for Roads in Lisbon, what in Tokyo? How is business done in these countries, do you have to pay prior, after 10 days, 30 days, does the crew speak english?

Many questions when you are in desperate need of time to organize or design your event.

We at Stagehands.net used the past 20 years to ask these questions, and we found the answers. We understand you and our partners. We dont simply translate, we know what stands behind a term, may it be in Lisbon or in Tokyo. So please be welcome to use us as your project, crew and cultural guide. Save time and money by using local crew organized by Stagehands.net

Latest Tokyo Event

Stagehands.jp at the Midtown Hibiya.

While recently expanding our efforts in Japan, we were part of an event at the Midtown Hibiya. The luxury complex in the Center of Tokyo opened it doors just recently on March 29th. Included in the scyscraper is a shopping center as well as an conference complex.

We were happy to be some of the first people to work at this new location. Unfortunately the event itself is again a little secret.  Nevertheless we share with you some pictures of the complex and the view over the imperial garden.

See you in Tokyo!

Artificial Intelligence in the Event Industry

How is Artificial Intelligence(AI) changing our business?

We were today at the DJW (German-Japanese-Business Association) Symposium in Düsseldorf. Several participants were informing and discussing what AI can do, should do and how it will change our life.

We want to share with this post an outcome of this discussions and a short conclusion when we look on our own business.

Our main business is to organize crew and  services for our customers, we strive to be available for our customer as quickly as possible and as direct as possible.  Our main goal is to make lifes easier for our customers. On the service side, this is very time consuming to do in our office. Picking up requests from our customers, discussing things with our partners in serveral countries in the world.

Where does AI pop in ?

From what we have learned today, basically AI can be used at several points in the company.

It starts at the customer contact channel. Which channel does the customer use and how is this information treated? Customers contact us on several channels. Phone, Whatsapp, Mail, Facebook, Smatsupp, we are dealing with this messages personally, every single one.

And here AI can be a really good help. i.e. having a software that bundles all these message channels and filters first messages. Why filter? Some messages and who may have noticed this not before, are spam and fishing mails. On top of these mails, you get messages, that simply ask for the way to contact you, or how to reach you, what information is needed for an order and so on.

AI can be used to implement automatic answers to these simpler questions, When needed a “real person” can still come into play if needed.

AI can also be used to predict certain events. Maybe its interesting when your customer will order again, and we see it over the years, that events are recurring, that some customers dont order during school holidays, some customers may event simply forget about you, if you are not contacting them after a certain amount of time.

AI can learn these specialities of business and wont forget what it has learned, thats the major advantage over information, wise conclusions and knowledge that might be lost in daily business ore when people leave the company. But its more than a simply wisdowm storage, it can learn and become better.

We will have a closer look into AI, as it is an very interesting opportunity to make lifes easier, for our customers and our office workers and that should be also the main overall goal of implementing AI in your and our business: simplify life for users.

If you are interested in the topic the DJW is soon sharing details about the outcome of the AI symposium in Düsseldorf.

We also recommend companies  and institutions who send their speakers:

Life Long Partnership

What it means to work with Stagehands,

As we are celebrating the 20ths year of Stagehands, we had to look back into what it means to do our business. We were asking us this question over and over again and the result was always the same: Life Long Partnership with our customers. So, what does this mean to us? We have a big variety of customers, we have customers who ask for not more than one person to assist – we have customers who need 100 or more crew a day. We treat every customer with the respect of a 100 crew per day order, no matter what, cause we believe in long term relationships and growing together.

We assist our smaller customers with their projects abroad with local crew and our knowledge of the country, also if it is but one person they order.

Some of our customers order on an anual base, just one event a year, but we know about their needs and are always ready and happy to assist. Annual Events are a big part of our business, also for customers, that have more than their annual events.

In March of this year, we were again in the  holy halls of the Grand Palais in Paris for one of those annual events. What event are you asking about now? Well, thats confidential, and we can keep a secret 😉
