The F1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2019

The F1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2019

The F1 Japanese Grand Prix 2019 will be taking place in only a few days in Suzuka Japan. It will be taking place from the 11th to the 13th of October. With the very first championship taking place in 1950, this year marks the 70th Championship. The Suzuka Circuit

The Suzuka International Racing Course, also known as the Suzuka circuit, is one of the oldest most popular modern race tracks in the world. Annually it holds 9 major racing events, many other minor events, and is a fan favorite with the F1 Championship. It is usually positioned near the end of the championship and therefore can often be one of the most decisive races of the season.

The Suzuka Circuit is also top of the line when it comes to their VIP suites and lounges. In addition to several VIP suites the track also includes a family lounge and a hospitality lounge. All of which are modern and equipped with many amenities. For this race StageHands.net had the pleasure of setting up one of their VIP areas. This included LED lighting, sound systems, seating and tables, and several other elements. It’s always exciting to be able to work at such an impressive venue.

Spiel 2019

This year Spiel 2019 will be taking place at the Essen Messe from October 24th through the 27th. Spiel is a tabletop gaming convention and with over 1,100 exhibitors it is one of the largest of its kind. They offer games of every genre including, family, adult, fantasy, strategy, adventure, Sci-fi, and almost anything else you can imagine.

Spiel attracts large crowds of around 200,000 visitors each year due to its unique strategy for holding this convention. Climate Change And Stagehands

Climate Change And Stagehands

Strike For Climate Change

Climate change and global sustainability have recently captured the attention of countries from all across the globe. Last week millions of students took to the streets to protest the continued passive stances of politicians in implementing policies to halt climate change and damage to our planet. Started only a year ago by a then 15-year-old student activist in Sweden, Greta Thunberg, the “Fridays For Futures” movement has grown more than anyone would have imagined.

Even without government action though individuals and companies can make changes that reduce their own carbon footprint and environmental impact. One of the main areas that StageHands helps in reducing carbon emissions is transportation. Whether its by train, car, or by airplane transportation is one of the largest sources of carbon emissions worldwide. Responsible for almost 30 percent of emissions in EU nations.

Comparing Modes of Transport

As far as how much each contributes, it depends mostly on the occupancy of the vehicle. When comparing each in grams of CO2 per person per km travelled, a car with a single passenger is by far the worst at 170g/person/km. Taking an average for commercial flights, which strive to fly with full planes, you get about 115g/person/km. A full car comes in at about 45g/person/km. And with the least emissions, domestic rail averages anywhere from 10-40g/person/km depending on the country and several other factors. For more detailed information and statistics check out THIS WEBSITE from the European Environment Agency.

With this in mind, one obvious way to reduce emissions is to take public transportation (buses and trains) instead of traveling by car or plane. However, another not so obvious way to reduce emissions is by not transporting what can be sourced locally. This applies to food, materials, and even manpower. A company that sends personnel twice a month (24 times a year) to projects at least 300 km away will produce about 620 kg of CO2 per person each year. These are conservative estimates using the 43g/person/km “full car” figures. Include a few flights or travel in cars with only 2 passengers and that amount skyrockets.

Where We Come In

This is one of the main areas that we help in reducing carbon emissions. StageHands.net has a network of local crews that we employ across Germany and even internationally. Meaning we are able to use crews usually from within 50 km and sometimes even less. Not only is this efficient, it also saves on emissions that otherwise would have been released into the atmosphere. In the end, this can mean keeping hundreds of tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere each year!

So, if you are looking for support in setup for your next event, concert or conference StageHands.net is here with the crew you need to make your setup a breeze. Whether it’s for rigging setup, lighting, sound, or many other areas we are here to help. For more information on the services we offer and for a free quote feel free to email us at MAIL@STAGEHANDS.NET or CONTACT US HERE, and we will get back to you ASAP!

2019 Rugby World Cup In Japan, With StageHands.net

This month Stagehands.net had the opportunity to work at the 2019 Rugby World Cup taking place in Japan. We provided crews in Tokyo at the Ajinomoto Stadium and in Yokohama at the Nissan Stadium. At both of these locations we helped unload materials, setup lighting, staging, and sound for private box areas of the stadiums.

The Rugby World Cup has been held every four years with the very first tournament being held in 1987. Usually it is held in one of the main countries where Rugby is well known (Europe, The United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, among others) however, this will be the first time it will be held in Japan and Asia in general.

The opening match consisted of Japan playing against Russia, with Japan winning 30-10. Initially there are 20 teams that are split into four “pools” with five teams each. Within each pool each team will play one match against the others. At the end of this stage the top two teams of each pool will enter the “Knockout Stage” of the competition. The final match will take place on November 2nd at 18:00 JST at the International Stadium Yokohama. UEFA Super Cup 2019

The UEFA Super Cup 2019 took place this year on August 14th in Istanbul. The UEFA Champions League holders Liverpool played against the UEFA Europa League winners Chelsea. With Liverpool winning 5-4 against Chelsea. Each year the winners from both championships face off against each other to determine who the top European team will be. This is the first time that two English teams have faced each other in the competition.

Stagehands is proud to have been able to provide support for The UEFA Super Cup this year. We provided our German and international customers with highly motivated local English-speaking crew for the assembly and tear down of this great event. Including for sound, video, lights, power cables, forklift drivers, and several other duties.

“Stagehands.net is now working for 5 years together with our Regional Manager Deniz Somersan. This major event now is for us the confirmation that we did the right choices in the past and are on the right way to supply good crew to our international customers in this very important city for the event industry.” says Managing Director Patrick Harnisch.

Included below are some pictures from our crews at the event. If you are looking for support in setup for your next event, concert or conference StageHands.net is here to help supply any crew you will need to make your setup a breeze. Stagehands.net at Gamescom 2019

Once again this year Stagehands.net was involved with providing crews for Gamescom 2019. Gamescom is one of the largest gaming conventions in the world, with on average around 370,000 visitors and over 1,000 different exhibitors present each year. It is one of the region’s most exciting conferences. Some of the biggest names in gaming, such as Blizzard, Microsoft, Xbox, and many others show up to display some of their latest games and equipment.

This year we worked with a large “free to play” gaming company. Setting up LED video walls, lighting, speakers, and several displays. With such a large event, involving so many people, it is important to have crew leaders who can coordinate the various tasks that need to be done. This is one area that Stagehands specializes in. We provide crew leaders who have a lot of experience with these kinds of events and can easily coordinate the crew members throughout the project. Meaning less stress for the client who can then concentrate on other things that need to be done. We also make sure that either one person is present throughout the whole project or that the crew leader that takes over for them knows what is going on, so that when crew members change there isn’t a need to completely brief a new team on what to do. There is someone there on the team who can explain to any new crew members what needs to be done.

If you are looking for support in setup for your next event, concert or conference StageHands.net is here to help supply any crew you will need to make your setup a breeze. Whether it’s for rigging setup, lighting, sound, or many other areas StageHands.net has the crew you need. For more information on the services we offer and for a free quote feel free to CONTACT US HERE, and we will get back to you ASAP!

We look forward to hearing from you!

StageHands.net At Tanztee 2019

Last weekend stagehands.net supplied crews for Schlager.de-Tanztee 2019. The large musical event took place at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany. Schlager is one of the most popular music genres in Germany and there are many events featuring Schlager singers across Germany each year. At this event the two main performers where “Die Amigos” and “Fantasy”, two well-known groups that have been producing music for years. In addition to these two groups there was also “Christian Lais”, “Pia Malo”, and “Die Schlagerpiloten”. It’s always nice to be a part of interesting shows with lots of classic lights and sound effects and Schlager shows are almost always exactly that.

If you are looking for support in setup for your next event, concert or conference StageHands.net is here to help supply any crew you will need to make your setup a breeze. Whether it’s for rigging setup, lighting, sound, or many other areas StageHands.net has the crew you need.
